Business Strategy
Oil Estates is a leading edge oil and gas exploration company targeting high-potential assets that will generally be invested in lowered risk properties with "in-fill" drilling opportunities; proven undeveloped reserves; "step-out" or direct "offset" opportunities; and with a limited number of more aggressive, very high-potential opportunities.
Together with our partners, Oil Estates' senior management together benefits from over 120 years aggregate experience in the oil and gas business covering most of the majors and a range of large independents. This is critical for its ability to execute a focused strategy of utilizing industry relationships, world class contract consultants and the most modern industry technologies.
Oil Estates utilizes sophisticated geological and engineering operations, including expertise with extensive gas and oil contacts, particularly in the San Juan gas producing region in Northeast New Mexico, Permian Basin of Southeast New Mexico and West Texas, Appalachian Basin, Texas, onshore Texas Gulf Coast, Louisiana, Southern Oklahoma and the southern Powder River Basin in eastern Wyoming, where modern 3-dimensional seismic analysis is identifying relatively substantial and rich areas for development.
Many of these areas have been overlooked, or passed up, by the major oil companies with their large, less-efficient overhead structures that have effectively driven them offshore to look for larger reserves. What may be a borderline reservoir to them can be very significant and financially rewarding to Oil Estates and its investing partners with its minimal operating and production overheads.
Key Business Strategy
Our key business strategy is to enhance investors' value through profitably building reserves, production and cash flow by acquiring oil and gas properties, exploring for new oil and gas reserves and optimizing production and value from existing oil and gas properties. Some of the key elements of our business strategy are as follows:

Exploit and develop our multi-year project inventory of drilling locations and recompletion projects and grow our proved reserves and production. We seek to maximize the value of the properties we acquire by developing and exploiting properties with the highest production and reserve growth potential. We utilize 2-D and 3-D seismic data and other technical applications, as appropriate, to manage our exploration risks.

Enhance production from our existing properties through development of additional producing horizons and enhanced recovery methods. We intend to perform continuous field studies of such properties using advanced technologies and seek to minimize costs by controlling operations to the extent possible. |

Use the best people in the industry - project management by some of the industry's most talented people and capable of generating significant investors' value in a cost effective manner. |

Make opportunistic acquisitions that meet our strategic and financial objectives. We pursue Strategic Acquisitions. We seek to leverage our extensive regional knowledge base by acquiring leasehold acreage of producing or non-producing properties that are in mature fields with complex geology that have multiple reservoirs and existing infrastructure. |
We constantly seek to acquire oil and gas properties that we believe complement our existing properties in our core areas of operation, as well as other properties that provide opportunities for the addition of reserves and production through a combination of exploitation, development, high-potential exploration and control of operations. |
